The EFR32xG29 wireless SoCs,  including the EFR32MG29 and EFR32BG29, are advanced multi-protocol and Bluetooth^® Low Energy (LE)-optimized wireless solutions for high-performance, low-power Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The EFR32BG29 SoC is ideal for wearable medical devices, asset monitoring, and power tools, while the EFR32MG29 SoC is designed for security systems, smart homes, and building automation.

The Silicon Labs EFR32xG29 Series 2 Wireless SoCs, available at Mouser, support Zigbee^®, Thread, Bluetooth^® LE, and proprietary 2.4GHz protocols. With up to 1024KB of Flash memory and 256KB of RAM, the EFR32xG29 wireless SoCs include sufficient memory for complex applications and over-the-air updates. The EFR32xG29 SoCs feature a powerful Arm^® Cortex^®-M33 with TrustZone^® technology that delivers efficient processing and enhanced security. Integrated features, including a high-performance radio with +20dBm output power and low-energy sensor interfaces, ensure reliable connectivity and help to extend battery life.

The EFR32xG29 wireless SoCs also offer a selection of microcontroller unit (MCU) peripherals, including an analog-to-digital Converter (ADC), an 8-channel direct memory access (DMA) controller, and a watchdog timer. The EFR32xG29 SoCs support both buck and boost DC-DC converters. The buck DC-DC is ideal for devices running on batteries with a 1.8V to 3.8V voltage range, while the boost DC-DC operates from 1.2V to 1.7V and is suitable for devices with a smaller form factor or lower-cost batteries. To protect IoT devices against remote and local cyberattacks, the EFR32xG29 SoCs feature Secure Vault™ High with hardware cryptographic acceleration, true random number generator (TRNG), secure boot, and other advanced security features. The EFR32xG29 Series 2 Wireless SoCs are supplied in a 5 mm x 0.85 mm x 0.4 mm quad-flat no-lead (QFN40) package. The EFR32BG29 variant is also available in an ultra-compact wafer-level chip-scale package (WLCSP45).

The Silicon Labs ERF32BG29 and ERF32MG29 development boards allow developers to profile energy usage, debug applications, and analyze wireless network behavior. The featured radio boards can be used with either a Wireless Starter Kit Mainboard (BRD4001A) or a Wireless Pro Kit Mainboard (BRD4002A).
